Battle of the Centses turned into battle of thousands at NDSU

FARGO — In the span of a week, North Dakota State University’s College of Engineering won this year’s Battle of the Cents-es with rare coins donated by a retired faculty member. Student ambassadors from that department raised $4,296.85 while the ambassadors from the College of Health Professions raised $2,221.39 The final total topped $9,193.46. Coins and Venmo donations were counted as positive points toward each college’s total, and dollar bills acted as negative points that will be subtracted from each college’s total.
