EUREKA, Calif. — On Tuesday, the Humboldt County Department of Health and Human Services Behavioral Health delivered an update on a pilot program for assisted outpatient treatment. In June 2021, the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors initially approved this pilot program. The program is meant to provide court-order community treatment for individuals with a history of repeated hospitalization or incarceration, or a history of violent behavior. “We’ve gotten about 22 unique referrals. 10 of those have met criteria for AOT and then they have been sent to EA [Family Services] to initiate the services,” Behavior Health Deputy Branch Director Jack…
