Monique Scott Wins 24th Ward Race Keeping West Side Ward In The Family
NORTH LAWNDALE — After a contentious race, Ald. Monique Scott held onto her 24th Ward seat in Tuesday’s election. With 10 of 20 precincts reporting Tuesday night, Monique Scott held 68 percent of the vote to challenger Creative Scott’s 31 percent, sealing her first full term, according to early results. Monique Scott and Creative Scott, who are not related, emerged from eight candidates Feb. 28 with 45.3 percent and 14.8 percent of the vote respectively.
