Redding scales back water restrictions after wet winter season
REDDING, Calif. — The City of Redding announced a reduction in water restrictions on Tuesday, moving from Stage 2 Water Restrictions to Stage 1. The wet winter season led Governor Gavin Newsom to end some water restrictions as most parts of the state are no longer in a drought for the first time since 2020. Redding City Manager Barry Tippin made the declaration official in Redding because of excessive rainfall, a Northern Sierra and Cascade snowpack well above average, Shasta Lake being nearly full, and the Bureau of Reclamation’s allocation of 100% of contract totals.
